Mission Statement 

“Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University reflects the uniqueness of the traditional land-grant institution combining teaching, research, service, liberal arts, and vocational fields. The University offers baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral level degrees that are compatible with the times to all qualified and capable individuals who are interested in further developing their technical, scientific, professional, and scholastic skills and competencies. The University operates in the three-fold function of teaching, research, extension and other public service. Alabama A&M University, a center of excellence, provides an educational environment for the emergence of scholars, scientists, leaders, critical thinkers, and other contributors to a global society.”

While much has changed on "The Hill", AAMU still maintains its commitment to its Mission:
 

• Excellence in education and a scholarly environment in which inquiring and discriminating minds may be nourished.
  
• The education of students for effective participation in local, state, regional, national, and international societies.

UC Merced opened Sept. 5, 2005, as the newest campus in the University of California system and the first American research university of the 21st century. Situated near Yosemite National Park, the campus significantly expands access to the UC system for students throughout the state, with a special mission to increase college-going rates among students in the San Joaquin Valley. It also serves as a major base of advanced research, a model of sustainable design and construction, and a stimulus to economic growth and diversification throughout the region.

INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION

The UCLA International Education Office offers a range of different programs for international students. Between Summer Study and Reciprocity Exchange programs, we're bound to identify the right means for accommodating an enriching multicultural educational experience.
Our international student and scholar community is 12,000 strong. And providing these talented individuals with useful resources is paramount to assist their acclimation to UCLA. The Dashew Center provides a wide variety of services, resources and programs, from assistance with immigration regulations to orientation and English Conversation programs. All applicants must meet the following minimum academic requirements:

• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognized academic institution with degree standards equivalent to those of the University of California
  
• Have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0
  
• Provide official standardized test scores (GRE), except for applicants to the MAS in Criminology, Law and Society, Master of Legal and Forensic Psychology, MS in Pharmacology, MS in Nursing Science, most MFA programs, and some business programs. Please check the requirements of the specific program you're applying to.
