The Scholarship was established in 2014 with a generous donation from Eileen (Sunny) Barnes, a close friend of William and Betty Bell. William and Betty Bell both grew up in the Great Depression and thus had an understanding of financial need.
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to assist a student who is the first member of their immediate family to attend university and who, because of financial hardship, may not otherwise be able to undertake a university degree.
How to apply
Please read the regulations carefully to be sure you are eligible before you apply. Then click on the blue “Apply here” button and complete the online application form.
Scholarship applications will usually open around 6 weeks before the closing date. We recommend you check the form early for any request sections, in case a referee or supervisor is required to support your application and to familiarise yourself with the form. Apart from any sections that are sent to a referee to endorse, you can go in to your form and amend your answers for all other sections up to the closing date. All sections (including any request sections) must be submitted by the closing date, which is midnight on the specified date (unless stated otherwise). We recommend you do not have two different scholarship applications open within the same browser.
Outcomes are determined by a selection committee and are usually notified around six weeks after the closing date.

The applicants of these scholarships must be either local students or local-fee paying international students. It is only designed for the doctoral degree students in a health-related area. In addition, these scholarships also open the same opportunity for the students who have paid the tuition fees for the doctor degree in Philosophy or other research components of approved doctoral program at the University of Auckland. For your information, the primary goal of the scholarships program is to motivate and help the excellent and talented students who want to pursue their doctoral degree in health fields.
These competitive University of Auckland Scholarships for Health Research Doctoral degree are based on the academic achievements of the students. The committee will consider the applicant’s grade point average for fast two years. They also review the quality of their research proposal as well as the endorsement of the supervisor and host academic unit of the applicants. Thus, you have to own perfect academic merit in the past two year before being eligible of the scholarships program. Since it is a doctoral degree program, the applicants must be expert in the research especially their own research.
The selected candidates will study at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. The benefits of the scholarships are classified as follow:
Award No: Up to three scholarships will be awarded annually.
Scholarship Duration: These doctoral scholarships will be awarded for up to 36 months. Part-time students shall be paid pro-rata for up to 72 months.
Scholarship covers: The Scholarship will provide a tax-free stipend of up to $25,000 per annum plus compulsory domestic PhD fees and international student health insurance (if applicable), for up to 36 months. Part-time students shall be paid pro-rata for up to 72 months
Eligibility Criteria
These following criteria of the University of Auckland Scholarships for Health Research Doctoral degree have been announced officially at the homepage of the scholarships. We just cited them all into this article, and they are as follow:
Scholars enrolled full-time at The University of Auckland and who have paid the fees or have arranged to pay the fees, for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy or the research component of another approved Doctorate.
Domestic students and domestic-fee paying international students.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for registration for a doctorate as described in the statutes of the University and will need to have an appropriate research programme in a health-related area.
Application Instructions
There is no online application process on these University of Auckland Scholarships for Health Research Doctoral degree. The candidates are automatically registered to the program as long as they have been accepted at the University of Auckland in the required fields of study. The candidates will get either hand delivery, courier or email notification. The successful applicants will receive any notification from the university six weeks after the deadline. Amelia Earhart Fellowship for Doctoral Degree

According to the homepage, these Amelia Earhart Fellowships for Doctoral Degree will cover the financial aid of the students, including their books, tuition fees, tools and equipment for the program chosen by them. The deadline is no longer than 15 November every year. For your information, all of these expenses are funded by Zonta International Foundation. As we stated earlier, the program provides the total amount of 10,000 USD. It is a large number of money. You can provide anything you need for your research and study obviously. Eligibility Criteria
Here are the following criteria of the Amelia Earhart Fellowships for Doctoral Degree that must be considered by the applicants before applying their application. They are as follow:
Open for any nationality pursuing a PhD/doctoral degree who demonstrate a superior academic record in the field of aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering are eligible. This program is made in honor of Amelia Earhart. It is the reason why the only available program is aerospace engineering course.
Post-doctoral research programs are not eligible for the Fellowship. Members and employees of Zonta International or the Zonta International Foundation are also not eligible to apply for the Fellowship. The program doesn’t close the opportunity of any international students who want to join. Make sure you have previous degree first.
Current fellows may apply to renew the Fellowship for a second year and will undergo the same application and evaluation procedures as first-time applicants. Thus, the program is always available every year. If you want to expand the duration, this is should be a very good way for you.
Applicants must be registered in a full-time PhD/doctoral program when funds are received in September and will not graduate before April 2017. This is the most important requirement that you must consider. You also need to prove the evidence of it.
How to Apply
In applying your application, the Amelia Earhart Fellowships for Doctoral Degree allow two methods. You can either post it via courier or electronic mail. Please remember the deadline of the scholarships. They won’t accept any application after 15 November every year. Incomplete or late applications are not allowed.
